The 21st century has seen many new beauty products hit the shelves that tackle specific problems and eyelash growth is on the list. Gone are the days when the only way to have long thick lashes was to use eyelash extensions. There are now several options available for those who are longing for lushious lashes.

Some of you may be familiar with eyelash growth products. The key ingredient was originally used to cause eyelash growth in people with glaucoma. The side effects of this treatment were rapid eyelash growth that encouraged the possibility to use the ingredients for an eyelash growth beauty product as well.

This new stimulator for eyelash growth has now grown into a million dollar market. More eyelash regrowth products are appearing all the time, some, good some not so good. So there is bound to be one that is right for you.

Each two-eyelash growth products may not contain the same ingredient so it is important that you check exactly what is in your product. These products are usually available in a tube, which is applied in the same way you would apply liquid eyeliner. If you do plan on buying any, make sure the product is FDA approved, meaning it I safe to use and read reviews from other customers. Eyelash growth products are usually priced between $120 -150 for a 6 month supply so it is important that you do no end up wasting your money on something that will not work or that isn’t safe to use.

Eyelash growth products also have side effects. Theses are not usually serious in most cases but you should be aware of the possibilities before you make a purchase. The most common side effects are red itchy eyes.

Natural ways to encourage eyelash growth
Many people claim that natural remedies such as Vaseline and castor oil can encourage eyelash growth. There is no scientific evidence as far as I am aware that suggests this, however Vaseline is a good alternative to clear mascara and will help protect your lashes.

Pure olive oil is also a favourite for long lash seekers. It works well on head hair and can make a small difference to eyelash growth but this has not been scientifically proven.
Emu oil conditions the lashes and is known to be the best natural remedy for eyelash growth. Some people have even claimed that it can cause hairs to grow in other areas of skin the oil comes into contact with.

Eyelash transplant cosmetic surgery for eyelash growth
Although this is not cheap and the results vary dramatically, eyelash transplants is another option for people who want to grow longer, thicker lashes. The price is usually between $3000-$5000 but for some people the price will be worth it.

The procedure works by taking individual hairs with the hair follicles attached from the scalp and inserting them into the eyelid one at a time.

For some people the results may not be immediate, the new lashes will start to grow when your eyelash growth cycle begins again which will take between 6-8 weeks.
As the lashes will now grow continuously it may need regular trimming and curling to keep them looking the way you want them to.

There are few ways to gain eyelash growth and in the future there will probably be much more available to you. For now, concentrate on finding an option that is right for you. It doesn’t have to be a permanent solution like eyelash transplants, it might even be something simple like avoiding mascara. What matters is that you see an improvement in eyelash growth.

Very nice blog. :) Just want to share. I've tried different ways to thicken my eyelashes and make it longer and fabulous. I've tried having eyelash extensions, putting false eyelashes and using mascara, but I felt unhappy with those products because it looks unnatural. I've tried eyelash growth products and definitely it's working. I love my eyelashes now. :)
