Can Eyelash Tinting Harm Eyelashes?

Eyelash tinting or eyelash dying as some people may call it is a beauty procedure that dyes the eyelashes another colour. It is usually used to darken the eyelashes so no mascara is needed and can harm the eyelashes or eyes if it is used in the wrong way. Many people have been doing this for years with no problems but there are some tips to help you avoid damaging your lashes.

The chemicals used to tint the eyelash are not as strong as the ones that would be used to dye the hair on your head. This is because eyelash hairs are much finer so they would not need a strong solution in order to tint it another colour and eyelash tinting  is also risky as it could easily leak into the eyes. It is still advisable however, to make sure the solution is not left on your eyelashes for too long to avoid eyelash loss.

During the eyelash tinting process, make sure you do not get any chemicals into your eyes, if you do, wash them immediately. You should also place a cotton pad underneath your eyelashes before you apply the dye. This will prevent it from getting onto the skin.

When you are ready to wash off the eyelash tinting formula, make sure you wipe off every trace. If you left some of it on the lashes it may cause them to fall out, so use some petroleum jelly and wipe it off with a cotton pad.

Eyelash tinting can be done without causing any damage to your eyelashes, but just like the hair on your head, if you dye it too much, too soon, it will cause problems. Always read the instructions and don’t tint your eyelashes more than necessary, only then will eyelash tinting not cause any harm to your eyelashes.
